You will engage with an experienced team to conceive and design phased arrays aimed at delighting customers with affordable, reliable, high bandwidth connectivity. You will work closely with Amazon Leo’s various sub-teams and engage third party suppliers to drive product definition, design, optimization, implementation, and test. The Hardware Engineer will have a complete understanding of how their design changes impact downstream partners such as operations, supply chain, product management, and reliability.Amazon strongly believes in Ownership and you will have the opportunity to own your designs from concept through production. You will own or contribute to the following:Own PCBA development from concept through productionDesign and optimize different blocks of electronics sub-systemsDesign high-speed digital and/or RF circuitry in collaboration with various teamsLead and review schematic capture and PCB layoutLead PCB vendor engagement for DFM reviewOptimize PCB stack-up for performance and costGenerate test plans/procedures based off high level requirement definitionComplete board bring-up and perform test campaigns for different modules and subsystemsDesign of automated test systems, test fixtures, and factory testSupport the transition of the designs to productionExport Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.About the teamThe payload antenna team is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, validation, qualification, and new product introduction to manufacturing for all satellite phased arrays. These antenna systems will meet performance requirements defined by the RF/modem team as well as environmental and reliability requirements defined by the mechanical team. To this end, the antenna team collaborates closely with all the partner teams including silicon, power, mechanical, thermal, modem, RF/Coms system, and SW teams.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalentExperience with prototyping and implementation4+ years of industry experience in mixed signal PCBA design3+ years of experience in using schematic tool (Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Cadence OrCad, or Altium Designer)2+ years of experience in using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters1+ years of experience in high-speed digital design (SERDES, Ethernet, PCIe, etc.)Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering or equivalentExperience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout1+ years of experience with signal and/or power integrityAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
