This role combines expert knowledge of market trends, digital marketing, and business development with strong leadership skills to guide a high‑performing team. The position works closely with senior management to develop innovative strategies, optimize segmentation, and ensure the hotel maintains a competitive edge in the Barcelona market and beyond.Main Duties Operational Work closely with the Hotel Director and Revenue Director to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that maximize business opportunities and strengthen the Grand Hyatt brand positioning.Conduct new business research, solicitation, prospecting, and acquisition while also designing marketing campaigns to attract key segments.Maximize segmentation mix and develop business from existing Hyatt channels while creating innovative marketing initiatives to generate new demand.Demonstrate a proactive approach to sales and marketing, ensuring all activities reflect brand standards and enhance visibility in the market.Manage strong relationships with senior decision‑makers from key leisure, PCOs, corporate accounts, and travel agents, while also building partnerships with media outlets, influencers, and local organizations to increase exposure.Oversee digital marketing efforts , including website content, SEO, social media campaigns, and online advertising, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.Conduct regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify trends and adjust both sales and marketing strategies accordingly.Plan and execute advertising campaigns and promotional activities across print, digital, and broadcast media to support revenue objectives.Collaborate with the Communications Director to create compelling content for promotional materials, press releases, and social media.Support the planning and promotion of hotel events, conferences, and special occasions, ensuring alignment with brand image and revenue goals.Measure, interpret, prioritize, and evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition and marketing activities, re‑evaluating programs on an ongoing basis to achieve/exceed objectives outlined in the Annual Business Plan.Maintain a perpetual analysis of key accounts and competitive marketing strategies in the Barcelona market and other relevant destinations.Assist the DOR in maintaining accurate forecasting procedures to enable Operating Departments to adjust their operation and cost structure.Work closely with ADOS on action plans to ensure group pace and strategies are formulated to fill gaps and secure long‑term business.Ensure a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact, written communication, and strategic marketing campaigns .Assist the Hotel Director in establishing an annual operating budget and an annual business plan with measurable objectives, strategies, and action plans for both sales and marketing.Prepare and manage the marketing budget , track ROI for all initiatives, and adjust strategies to ensure cost‑effectiveness.Establish in conjunction with the Hotel Director, Marketing Communications Director, and Director of Revenue an annual business plan with measurable objectives, strategies, and action plans to achieve revenue and profit targets.Set individual sales and volume targets for all Sales Department employees, track and review production monthly, and ensure marketing initiatives support these goals.Employee Handling Lead and mentor a strong and disciplined sales and marketing team , fostering collaboration and alignment between both functions.Conduct yearly performance appraisals and provide regular feedback on job performance.Nurture and develop the sales & events team, supporting them to reach their respective revenue targets and ensuring alignment with marketing objectives.Promote a culture of creativity and innovation within the team to drive impactful marketing campaigns and successful sales strategies.Ensure excellent communication and leadership skills, relationship management, and networking abilities are demonstrated across the team.Qualifications Qualifications & Skills Experience : Minimum 5 years as Director of Sales & Marketing in luxury hospitality, preferably in an international environment.Languages : Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.Strategic Expertise : Proven ability to develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and brand positioning.Market Knowledge : Deep understanding of Barcelona market dynamics , global travel trends, and luxury leisure and MICE segments.Digital Marketing & Branding : Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, social media strategy, and brand communication .Commercial Acumen : Ability to analyze market data, forecast demand, and adjust strategies proactively to maintain a competitive edge.Leadership : Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and managing high‑performing teams .Relationship Management : Established network with key decision‑makers, luxury travel agencies, PCOs, and corporate accounts .Technology Skills : Proficiency in hospitality systems (Lanyon, Agency360, Envision, Reserve) and advanced MS Office skills.Education : Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hospitality Management;
