Specifically, we look for passionate, entrepreneurial, hardworking Software Development Engineers with experience building high-performance, highly-available, and scalable distributed systems to help drive this mission.Key Job ResponsibilitiesHave a strong sense of ownership and customer focusCare about code quality and readabilityAre comfortable working with data structures as much as discussing software development processes with your peersGet inspired by collecting product and system metrics and by proposing improvementsPersevere when troubleshooting build, deployment or live issuesTake code review feedback gracefully and provide your feedback with abundanceLove to see your code deployed, and want to see it happening more oftenA Day in the LifeCollaborating with project teams across various themes like core platform development, software compliance, and financial optimization.Engaging in technical discussions and brainstorming sessions to devise software strategies.Active participation in our development sprints, reviewing code, and ensuring the implementation of best practices.Interacting with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and translating them into technical solutions.Mentoring team members (SDE1), providing guidance, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Regularly reviewing and optimising existing systems and processes for better efficiency and performance.Basic Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systemsExperience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
