Context and Mission The BSC Data Management team within the AI Institute seeks two Services Support Case Experts to enable users of BSC AIF Data Services. The role blends consulting, support and coordination, harmonizing procedures and ensuring project managers maintain accurate knowledge of available services and best practices. Key Duties Provide expert guidance to users on accessing, using, and troubleshooting BSC AIF data services. Diagnose and advise on user issues, escalating to specialists when needed. Gather feedback to identify gaps and improve service usability. Deliver training sessions, documentation, FAQs, and onboarding materials. Support coordination: define workflows, procedures, and response standards for consistent data service delivery. Mentor support personnel on data services, GDPR and legal compliance. Facilitate structured knowledge sharing via documentation, training, briefings, and internal wikis. Integrate lessons learned into service documentation and team procedures. Maintain and refine knowledge bases, SOPs, and support documentation; track KPIs and propose improvements. Coordinate with technical teams to communicate recurring issues, feature requests, and service bottlenecks. Contribute to continuous improvement of user support, training, and communication strategies. Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Project Management, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience 3‑5 years of user enablement experience in IT and data services. Knowledge of institutional data repositories, collaboration platforms, and secure research environments. Understanding of technical mechanisms for data access, permissions, workflows, and interoperability. Experience in coordinating data‑intensive projects. Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience Familiarity with ticketing systems, knowledge bases, and service‑level processes. Experience coordinating small teams or cross‑functional support activities. Experience with documentation tools, wikis, project management tools, and user communication channels. Experience in a research or academic environment. Knowledge of FAIR data principles, research data management practices or Open Science services. Good level in English (written and spoken). Competences Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities. Strong coordination, organisational and interpersonal skills. Ability to translate technical/legal concepts into user‑friendly language. Team‑oriented approach and ability to work across technical and non‑technical groups. Conditions Position located at BSC within the Operations Department. Full‑time contract (37.5 h/week), flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support. Open‑ended contract due to project and budget duration. 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + public holidays as per collective agreement. Salary competitive with qualifications and experience, commensurate with Barcelona cost of living. Starting date: ASAP.
