The Commercial Systems unit thrives on engineering teams that design, develop, and operate services that drive Canonical's business. Golang plays an integral role on these teams. Teams we are looking to fill Billing – A Golang service that turns metrics into billable amounts and provides customers with real‐time spend visibility. Contracts – A single source of truth for all contracts with customers, a CPQ‐capable service that stores signed contracts. Livepatch – A service that delivers Linux kernel patches to shrink the exploit window for critical and high severity vulnerabilities. Location Remote in the EMEA region. Responsibilities Develop engineering solutions leveraging Golang. Lead technical designs, code reviews, and implementation. Deploy and operate services developed by the team. Coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback to colleagues. Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices. Qualifications Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university. Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path. Track record of going above‐and‐beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results. Experience with software development in Golang. Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills. Result‐oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments. Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long. Nice‐to‐have skills Performance engineering and security experience.
