Insurance Manager

Insurance Manager (all genders) – Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain We are looking for an organized and proactive professional to manage the company’s insurance activities and help prevent and mitigate risks across the business. The role involves reviewing, drafting and managing insurance policies at both domestic and international levels, supporting the planning and operation of insurance programmes, and overseeing claims management. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to address risk‑related matters and disputes. Responsibilities Define internal guidelines for risk management and insurance coverage across the European Union and the UK. Handle subscription, renewal and follow‑up of the company’s insurance contracts covering all business areas from development and construction to operation of the renewables portfolio. Launch and manage calls for tenders, review and negotiate policies, subscribe to new contracts, verify insurance certificates, and manage premium and fee payments. Analyse insurance coverage and adequacy of guarantees, review and negotiate insurance clauses and liability provisions in commercial contracts. Advises management and operational teams on risk assessments and required insurance‑related mitigation plans. Ensure timely placement of relevant insurance policies for all project stages – acquisition, pre‑construction, construction and operation. Manage insurance claims and settlements in a timely manner and maintain accurate records. Regularly review the portfolio of contracted insurance policies. Lead communication and develop long‑term relationships with key insurance brokers and advisers. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Law or a comparable field. Insurance specialization is a plus. At least 5 years of professional insurance experience. Strong knowledge of MS tools and SAP. In‑depth understanding of insurance strategy, claim management and risk management. Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Fluency in English (oral and written). Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
