Context And MissionThe Barcelona Supercomputing Center's Data Analytics and Visualization Group team is looking for a research engineer or postdoctoral researcher with experience in spatial data analysis and AI models.The candidate will work within the framework of the AI Factories project, helping industry develop AI models for analysing and diplaying geo-located data, geared towards producing better decision making tools and advance solutions on climate resilience, mobility, urban interventions, and more.The candidate will need experience preparing and analysing geolocated data from multiple heterogeneous sources, and creating and using AI models that use these data to answer questions posed by the researchers as well as administration officials and other collaborators.The candidate will be embedded in the Computational Applications in Science and Engineering department (CASE); which works with industry and academia developing software and applications that leverage the power of High‑Performance Computing to solve real problems of people.Key DutiesTraining and fine‑tuning AI models (LLMs, image and code generation)Spatial data analysisAssistance in preparing data for trainingAssistance in training modelsCollaborate with internal and external researchers of the projectRequirementsEducationDegree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Computer SciencePhD will be highly valuableEssential Knowledge and Professional ExperienceExperience in gathering datasets from spatial data portalsKnowledge and professional experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and GIS software (QGIS)Training and use of LLMs and other generative AI modelsAdditional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceKnowledge with programming languages such as Python, RGIS python packages like ArcPy, PyQGISExperience with GIS software ArcGISExperience training and deploying AI models in HPC environmentsGood level in English, both written and spokenCompetencesGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team.ConditionsThe position will be located at BSC within the CASE DepartmentWe offer a full‑time contract a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation proceduresDuration : Open‑ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget durationHolidays : 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreementSalary : we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in BarcelonaStarting date : As soon as possible#J-18808-Ljbffr
