In 2024, Dow delivered sales of approximately $43 billion.About you and this roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer in Tarragona, Spain.The Production Engineer serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low‑cost, high‑quality products. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the discipline. Performs routine assignments and solves standard problems using existing procedures. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the operations team, leveraging their problem‑solving skills and technical expertise.Elevate and apply knowledge of the plant and technology, referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).Ensure the Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood, utilized, and that process automation is used to optimize plant performance.Utilize defined MET and challenge or escale MET application when better solutions arise.Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve, document, and enforce operating discipline.Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.Understand procedural steps and precautions, maintaining a strong field presence to reinforce their importance.Conduct daily review of logbook and alarm history to understand plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.Maintain, own, and review daily Key Process Indicators (KPI) and trends to ensure optimum performance.Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies.Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.Provide leadership expertise, diagnosis and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, potentially reducing yield or waste generation.Ensure compliance with plant operating permits and provide input to optimize the overall system.QualificationsA Master’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Material Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.Between 0 to 2 years of experience.Fluency in both English and Spanish.Additional notesRelocation support is not offered for this role.Benefits – What Dow offers youEquitable and market‑competitive base pay with bonus opportunity and local incentives.Benefits and programs to support physical, mental, financial and social well‑being.Competitive retirement program with company‑provided benefits, savings opportunities, financial planning and educational resources.
