As a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will lead initiatives to enhance transformer performance and reliability through advanced mechanical simulations, innovative manufacturing processes, and robust design of external components in collaboration with other R&D teams.**How you will make an impact*** Lead and execute R&D projects focused on mechanical simulation, including nonlinear and transient analysis to assess short-circuit forces and structural integrity in transformer components.* Develop and validate welding and manufacturing processes for transformer tanks and external structures, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.* Drive innovation in manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing and material characterization for transformer applications.* Lead and manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and with the required quality following Hitachi Energy internal standards and processes.* Your background*** MS degree in **Mechanical engineering*** **Minimum 5 years of experience** in R&D, engineering, or academic research, preferably in the transformer or energy sector.* Proficiency in CAD modeling (e.g., CATIA, CREO, NX, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., Awareness of intellectual property considerations in the research and development process.* Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills.* Fluent spoken and written English.## A holistic range of competitive benefit programs to support your financial, physical and mental well-being and personal development.
