About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our Global Privacy Office, you will play a critical role in advising the organization on data protection matters and developing creative solutions to enable business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Guidance on Data Protection Laws and Regulations: Offer expert advice to the business on global data protection laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance across the organization.
  2. Identify and Mitigate Privacy Risks: Recognize privacy-related issues while conducting assessments and develop compliant solutions to enable the business to grow and develop its use of data.
  3. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other members of the Privacy team, Legal, IT, Information Security, and Data Retention to ensure Privacy is integrated into business processes and systems.
  4. Educate and Train Employees: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data protection and privacy policies and procedures.
  5. Communicate with Clients: Provide direct communication to clients regarding our Privacy Program.
  6. Stay Up-to-Date on Global Privacy Landscape: Continuously monitor changes to the global privacy landscape and advise on their impact on the business.
Requirements
  • Education and Knowledge: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. IAPP (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) qualifications desirable.
  • Experience: 3-5 years professional experience in data protection and privacy.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in business English.
