Job Title: Backend Engineer

About the Role:

Nationale Nederlanden Group is seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in modernizing our backend applications, automating processes, and improving overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automation of processes where possible
  • Evaluate our technological landscape and identify areas for improvement
  • Investigate, analyze, and fix bugs
  • Integrate systems and run them
  • Develop and maintain unified solutions incorporating coding standards
  • Contribute to the strategic approach to ensure we are future-proof
  • Closely collaborate and align with the Engineering Guild and facilitate community contributions

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development as a Node.js backend engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Excellent knowledge of integration patterns using REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and a DevOps mindset
  • Some knowledge of React is a plus
