Job Title: Media Relations Specialist

The Opportunity
This role will be responsible for the successful execution, effective coordination, and efficient management of the institution's positioning, external projection, and media presence. The Media Relations Specialist will implement communication strategies to enhance the institution's visibility and reputation, build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, and develop compelling content and special actions to engage the target audience.
Key Duties Include:

- Content Creation: Develop compelling content and special actions to engage the target audience
- Impact Monitoring: Track and analyze media impact to ensure alignment with the institution's goals
- Special Initiatives: Generate and execute special actions tailored to the institution's objectives
This role is pivotal in shaping the institution's public image and ensuring consistent and impactful media engagement.
Your Main Responsibilities
The Media Relations Specialist will be responsible for:
- Content Curation and Copywriting: Ability to detect communication opportunities, execute projects from conception to realization, measure impact, and generate synergies with different stakeholders to reinforce Esade's strategic messaging
- Develop new angles and produce engaging stories, journalistic videos, articles, Op-Eds, and press releases
- Focus on writing, editing, and updating web content, blogs, and other digital content to improve organic search and drive user engagement
- Work with our creative team to develop high-quality visual content such as infographics and data visualizations
- Work closely with different units and departments to suggest content calendars and receive approval on topics and publishing schedules
- Regularly attend events and create content to be used to raise the profile of Esade's initiatives
Media Relations:
The Media Relations Specialist will be responsible for:
- Address inquiries from media and other parties, coordinating internally to provide timely and valuable responses
- Coordinate interviews, meetings, and press conferences with major media outlets in the institution's top-priority international markets
- Disseminate and create awareness on Esade's knowledge and research through press releases, Op-Eds, and other media-focused pieces
- Conduct outreach to national and international media, including by pitching ideas for stories, interviews, articles, etc.
International Background:
The Media Relations Specialist will have a clear professional orientation towards international and globalization-related issues, with excellent capacity to establish professional links and mediate using cordial, organized, and efficient communication with a diverse range of stakeholders in international contexts.
Qualifications
Minimum of a university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in journalism, communication, international relations, or another related field
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Mailchimp, and WordPress (or similar)
High proficiency in English (C1 level or higher) and Spanish (native or similar)
Other languages would be a plus
Excellent communication skills, along with editing, writing, and content creation abilities
Strong teamwork, multitasking, and organizational skills

Flexibility to work both on-site and remotely in an autonomous, efficient, and productive manner
