About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level regulatory advice and support to management on all matters of data protection impacting current and planned business activities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including senior managers and compliance colleagues.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory changes and ensure the company's data protection practices remain compliant.
  • Establish and execute mechanisms to test the effectiveness of data protection arrangements.
  • Provide input to the development and review of the annual compliance plan.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a data protection function within a financial services organization.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of the European regulatory landscape in the field of data protection.
  • Strong practical knowledge of data protection principles, rules, and guidance.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Acts with high levels of integrity and personal and professional ethics.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Effectively able to undertake peer group comparisons and report on business practices against regulatory requirements.
  • Hold, or be working towards, an industry-recognized qualification in data protection.
  • A knowledge and understanding of insurance and/or healthcare products.
