The Role: NLP EngineerWe're seeking an experienced NLP Engineer to join our Knowledge Extraction team. As a key member, you'll develop data pipelines to perform data tagging and extraction at scale, tackling complex problems in document segmentation, entity recognition, language understanding, and entity reconciliation within the legal domain.
You'll work closely with our international team, delivering high-quality software and data output. Your expertise will be invaluable in driving our technology approach, combining machine learning and rules-based approaches to achieve high precision and recall expectations.
Responsibilities- Design and implement new NLP features, continuously improving existing capabilities to increase quality and expand to more jurisdictions and material types.
- Write and maintain reliable, well-documented code with excellent code coverage.
- Perform data analysis and exploration to inform NLP pipeline development.
- Collaborate with downstream product teams to conceptualize data tagging requirements.
- Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
We're looking for a skilled software engineer with a strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years of experience in software development. The ideal candidate will possess:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering roles.
- A good academic background with a college degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years of experience in software development.
- Previous experience in NLP projects is not required, but a strong understanding of NLP concepts is essential.
- Comfort working in an agile and iterative team environment.
- Self-driven, fast learner, excited to master new technologies as needed.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong technical documentation skills.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Good command of both English and Spanish languages.
