Job Title: Indirect Tax Specialist

At Bunge, we are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona. As an Indirect Tax Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of VAT compliance obligations within our regional finance organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the indirect tax technology strategy with a focus on automation and continuous improvement of VAT processes and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with Bunge's policies and procedures, as well as EU VAT regulations.
  • Prepare and submit declarations and VAT returns for all EU VAT registration entities.
  • Pro-actively follow up and resolve issues found in the reconciliation and VAT compliance process.
  • Work closely with the cash team to ensure payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Perform VAT reconciliations and follow up with the Accounts Payable team and Execution teams to ensure correct VAT treatment of transactions.
  • Provide training to internal departments to expand their VAT knowledge and ensure the VAT compliance status of the company.
  • Advise on ad hoc VAT issues and support the Indirect Tax Team with a continuous improvement mindset.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as an Indirect Tax Specialist.
  • 3+ years of professional practice in multinational companies.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; German is a plus.
  • Significant experience in accounting and knowledge of European VAT rules and regulations.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, as well as system knowledge (SAP, SAP S/4 HANA).
