Join Our Team as a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery, where the magic of storytelling comes alive. As a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that drives business growth and success.

Your Role: As a key member of our Global OPEX COE, you will play a crucial role in shaping our financial planning and analysis processes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and accurate forecasting, reporting, and analysis of operational expenses.

Your Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the month-end close process from an FPA perspective, focusing on OPEX PL.
  • Perform detailed reviews of actual spend with finance business partners and budget holders.
  • Summarize key findings to support discussions and decisions aimed at improving business unit/regional profitability.
  • Assist in the production of the monthly cost forecast submission and updating of related systems.
  • Support the annual budget process, including the design of templates, critical review of planning assumptions, and creation and analysis of business cases.
  • Provide insight into financial performance through accurate, timely, and relevant reporting.
  • Assist directly with business heads by helping them with their daily finance needs.
  • Regularly interact with various business partners.
  • Interpret and clearly communicate results, reports, and analysis.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and create new reporting related to cost management and governance meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain and improve the processes supporting financial planning and analysis activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ years of working experience, preferably with experience in an FPA department.
  • Solid understanding of forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • General accounting knowledge (accruals, prepayments, cost recognition).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Excel (power query, power pivot) and PowerPoint skills.
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication.
  • Assured self-starter on relevant projects and work is a plus.
  • Proactive and hands-on.
  • Strong IT affinity to drive required digital agenda in FPA (EPM e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC, SAP Analysis, BI tools e.g., Power BI).
