About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Digital Transformation to join our team at Allianz Technology. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving and executing our digital and data science roadmap, leveraging technology and data to innovate new business models and digitalize services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the IT development team for frontend, customer, and partner-facing applications, ensuring alignment with local and global IT strategy and standards.
  • Responsible for resource management for development, maintenance, and development of internal and external IT support systems, tracking KPIs for the IT teams.
  • Manage technological projects or programs running across one or multiple Lines of Business, targeted at achieving overall business goals.
  • Deliver digital and data platforms that align with local and global strategy, ensuring the architecture of solutions meets user requirements and complies with IT strategy, standards, and security.
  • Oversee and conduct software development teams to deliver software that meets user needs, analyzing technology in design, development, and administration for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify and select vendors who meet specified requirements, arranging favorable terms for the procurement of selected IT assets.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with vendors, planning departmental budget, and forecasting additional expenses for staff, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Work closely with IT Finance to update and identify financial movements in the team, encouraging teamwork and cooperation, and aligning with people management strategies.
  • Transform IT development teams to new working practices for more efficient application development, working closely with security, risk, compliance, and audit teams to ensure gaps are closed according to agreed schedules.
Requirements
  • University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in managing IT programs.
  • Proven experience in developing business concepts, roadmaps, and technical solutions for senior leadership.
  • Aware of new technologies and industry movements, including startup activities.
  • Experience working with projects that combine internal and external data (e.g., web, social media) is an advantage.
  • Solid overall IT expertise covering software and hardware across all dimensions of the insurance business.
  • Able to understand and interpret business, performance, and operation metrics, indicators, and KPIs.
  • Experience as an API management and/or cloud database admin can be a plus.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking and innovation, experience in strategic planning and execution, and understanding of strategy, operations, management, and leading engagements across business functions.
  • Experience managing people in delivering consulting/advisory services at the corporate level.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills.
