Job Overview

As a Business Legal Compliance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in shaping and safeguarding the legal framework of our business. Your responsibilities will include overseeing legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing strategic legal guidance to the executive team.

You'll apply your expertise in international law and accounting principles to enhance our operations, working closely with cross-functional leaders and external partners to align with business goals and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Agreements: Review and negotiate contracts with international clients and partners to ensure clear and protective terms.
  • Legal Compliance: Develop and monitor internal policies to maintain compliance with relevant laws, industry standards, and regulatory bodies.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Support interactions with regulators, assist with information requests, and oversee compliance-related reporting.
  • Relationship Building: Establish trusted relationships with external parties to strengthen our position and build goodwill.
  • Contract Drafting: Draft and finalize key legal documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
  • Legal Education: Offer clear explanations and training on legal terms and policies to ensure the team understands our legal framework.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough research on potential risks related to business decisions, informing sound and strategic choices.
Requirements
  • You must be fluent in English and Spanish, with experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, business law, and familiarity with regulatory bodies, including BdE and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles to support collaboration with finance on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Proven ability to create defensive and proactive legal strategies that protect and strengthen a company.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity, making decisions with sound judgment and a focus on the bigger picture.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of clearly conveying legal concepts and engaging with senior stakeholders.
