Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Global Commodity Buyer to join our team at Mahle Casted Parts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing material groups in accordance with quality, cost, and financial objectives.


Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Lead Buyer in developing and managing a long-term global commodity strategy with a strong emphasis on cost management, maximizing global synergies, and improving quality and delivery performance.
  • Drive market analysis and benchmark activities, including RFQ and negotiations, to define and implement material group strategies.
  • Coordinate and align the creation of budgets and forecasts for assigned commodities with different affected BUs and regions.
  • Prepare, support, and conduct negotiations to achieve or exceed budget targets.
  • Manage and enhance supplier performance, including regular supplier panel reviews, while adding or replacing suppliers as necessary and escalating if required.
  • Develop countermeasures when necessary and manage and drive escalated market situations, such as market shortages or allocations.
  • Closely partner with affected R&D departments, plants, and regional commodity buyers regarding strategy, supplier panel, new technologies, and cost improvement projects for assigned commodities.
  • Accelerate standardization across regions and drive and manage cost improvement projects through implementation and escalation if unfavorable deviations occur.
  • Implement measures to reduce working capital, such as prolonging payment terms or implementing consignment stock.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
  • Fluency in English at a business level. Spanish or other languages are a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, time, and project management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key issues and effectively coordinate efforts to achieve resolution cross-functionally and globally.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with cross-functional teams, including the ability to build alliances in a global, complex, changing environment.
  • Ability to convince people.
  • Advanced quality mindset with knowledge about quality management in the automotive industry.
  • Proven ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
