Job Title: Data Steward and Architect

The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is seeking a highly skilled Data Steward and Architect to join our Strategy Development team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in implementing our data management roadmap and contributing to its evolution.

We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, and versatile professional who can guide us in this journey. If you are passionate about the new era of science and have a strong background in data architecture, data management, and governance, we encourage you to apply.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implementing the Research Data Management section of the ICN2 Data Management roadmap and contributing to its evolution.
  • Cooperating with research groups to create their research data architecture and their own research data management protocols.
  • Providing data management advice to research groups, including creation of datasets and related metadata.
  • Participating in the establishment of the fundamental steps of a complete new scientific topic, data-centric materials science.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • Master in data science or data architecture will be an asset.
  • Experience in data architecture design, scaling, and security of modern, cloud-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Proficiency level of English.
  • Experience in a research center will be highly valued.

  • Independence and team working capacities.
Summary of Conditions:
  • Full-time work (37.5h/week).
Contract Length:

Permanent position.

Location:

Bellaterra (Barcelona).

Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience. Support to the relocation issues. Life Insurance.
