About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our Cloud Operations and Innovation team at Microsoft. As a key member of our strategic supply chain team, you will be responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Field Service Technician / Engineer Management (OEM):
    Manage and oversee supplier labor management in coordination with general contractors, scheduling teams, and internal planning teams to align schedules and deliverables.
  2. Change Order Management:
    Lead change order management after construction design engineering (CDEs) and technical submittals are complete with suppliers before construction begins.
  3. OFCI Management & Quality Assurance:
    Facilitate the MEP / OFCI (owner furnish contractor installed) equipment once delivered to site, including inspections and appropriate sign-offs.
  4. Supplier Engagement & Performance:
    Manage post-award site delivery scheduling, on-time delivery performance, and reporting.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  2. Experience in project management, procurement, supply chain, and/or operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in technical or financial fields (engineering, finance, business administration, supply chain). Master's preferred.
  2. Hyperscale data center or large building construction experience in an owner or general contractor capacity.
  3. Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting.
  4. High energy and drive to achieve results in midst of ambiguity and matrixed organization.
  5. Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them.
  6. Excellent communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  7. Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.
  8. Ability to implement new processes and get buy-in from a cross-functional team.
  9. Must be able to drive sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for multiple categories.
  10. Able to integrate successfully into large-scale construction projects - large dollar contracts of over $50 million.
