About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to oversee all aspects of design, construction, and facility management for Alfamart Trading Philippines. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the design process, ensuring efficient construction project delivery, and maintaining the company's facilities to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the design and construction of new stores, expansion, and renovations, ensuring alignment with Alfamart's strategic goals and brand standards.
  • Supervise the Building Administration Department to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of all Alfamart facilities.
  • Manage all phases of construction projects from concept design through planning, budgeting, procurement, and execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality design and construction standards are met.
  • Monitor project progress, conduct regular visits to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as Operations, Accounting, and Merchandising to ensure alignment between design, construction, and operational requirements.
  • Prepare reports on project progress, building maintenance, and departmental performance for management review.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the construction and building administration teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Resolve any design, construction, or facility-related issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of years of experience in construction management, design, and facility administration, preferably within the retail or commercial sector.
  • PRC License is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing large construction and building administration teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, building systems, design principles, and project management best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills when working with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and construction best practices.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations, resolve conflicts, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of construction projects and building maintenance.
