CAREL is a leading global high-tech company in the control technology and humidification for air conditioning and refrigeration sectors. We are seeking a skilled Software Solutions Developer to join our Iberic Subsidiary in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Barcelona.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing applications for the HVAC/R market using CAREL programmable controls (PLC) and supervisory systems. Our control solutions aim to help customers achieve high efficiency, connected, and sustainable solutions for cooling, heating, and ventilation in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software to program CAREL controllers to meet customer and market expectations
  • Work on projects from conception to feasibility analysis and subsequent development and testing
  • Define detailed specifications and technical design
  • Provide customer support on adopted programming tools for application software maintenance and training
  • Education in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent technical field
  • Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Knowledge of PLC programming languages such as ST, ladder logic, FBD
  • Knowledge of communication protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus Ethernet, Bacnet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.
  • Ability to develop software in ST, Java, Javascript, Python, C++
  • Ability to develop web applications (HTML, Javascript)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications
  • Good English proficiency required to work with our teams worldwide
  • Teamwork, enthusiasm, project management approach, and good attitude in relationships and communication with colleagues, sales network, and customers
