Job Description:

Aerodynamics Engineer - FCAS 2023

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Aerodynamics Engineer to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. As an Aerodynamics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on the FCAS project and contribute to the development and optimization of Airbus Defence and Space aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design air vehicle external shapes and provide comprehensive aerodynamic models and data on performance, handling qualities, and loads in steady and unsteady mode.
  • Ensure that optimized aerodynamic solutions and data are delivered to customers on time, cost, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain technologies, methods, and tools related to Aerodynamics disciplines and all support activities or expertise required to meet the Programme's overall design and major components or systems integration needs throughout their life cycles.
  • Contribute to the achievement of all vehicle projects aerodynamic and flight performance requirements within prescribed time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Develop expertise in the appropriate use of numerical and experimental aerodynamic prediction tools.
  • Acquire and develop aerodynamic technologies in a manner consistent with the Company Strategy.
  • Link with the external research community in the field of Aerodynamics and multi-disciplinary air vehicle design and optimization.
  • Link with all disciplines relevant for physics of flight, such as structures, loads, stability & control, mass properties, etc.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering (PhD level in Aerospace Engineering will be valuable).
  • Integrity and confidence to speak up.
  • Evident ability to learn and grow fast.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, disposition to work in groups.
  • Good analytical capabilities, assertive and stress resilient.
  • Knowledge and experience in aerodynamic design and characterization will be valuable.
  • Knowledge and experience in numerical aerodynamic prediction tools will be valuable.
  • Knowledge and experience in fluid dynamics will be valuable.
  • Knowledge and experience in wind tunnel testing will be valuable.
  • Knowledge and experience in CAD tools will be valuable.
  • English advanced; Spanish will be valuable; German and/or French will be valuable.
