About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Origination Specialist to join our European Power team at Galp Energia España Sau. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for originating and leading negotiations through to execution of new structured products and services with counterparties in the Iberian power markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, explore, analyze, monitor, and complete opportunities in the Iberian electricity markets that can contribute to the development of the power portfolio.
  • Develop new business opportunities in the electricity market, including exploration of new growth areas, entry into new geographic markets, and the development of new structured products or services.
  • Lead internal and external negotiations to enable new products with customer segments defined by our strategy.
  • Maintain and develop close relationships with Iberia's counterparts.
  • Prepare and review contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and managing power contracts to ensure all terms and conditions are clear and comply with legal requirements.
  • Internal coordination: work closely with other departments, such as risk, legal, trading, business office, dispatching, and operations, to ensure all origination activities are aligned with corporate objectives and regulations in force at Galp/Iberia level.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the power market.
  • Knowledge of the electricity market, including legislative framework, market design in the EU, day-ahead and intraday market, electricity generation technologies, etc.
  • Knowledge of risk management, including Monte Carlo models, VaR, etc.
  • Knowledge of the functioning of derivatives and portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of the development process of renewable plants, including grid connection, environmental permits, administrative permits, local licenses, financing.
  • Power procurement and forward markets (PPA).
  • Team player.
  • Proactive and initiative person.
