Unlock the Power of Data Engineering

OLX is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for rethinking and re-architecting the Tracking framework to increase its accuracy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with our data engineers, software engineers, and PM to design and implement a scalable tracking framework that meets the technical reality of all countries and businesses.
  • Work closely with our chief data officer and engineering managers to ensure the framework is aligned with our data catalog solution and product analytics tools.
  • Develop and implement solutions to pain points identified in the tracking framework, ensuring accurate measurement of user behavior.
  • Coordinate with product analytics and data service teams to implement changes required to improve tracking accuracy.
  • Audit the implementation of GA4 and provide guidance on leveraging its value.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development with expertise in backend technologies (Python, Kotlin/Java, Go).
  • Strong understanding of software design, object orientation, architectural patterns, and delivery patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, integrating them into applications, and testing automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes, cloud native solutions, and metadata management tools.
  • Passion for architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
