About the Role

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Junior Research Engineer to join our Earth Sciences Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting research and developing user-tailored products for European and national projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate model results against observations, preparing charts and reports to communicate scientific findings.
  • Develop machine learning and AI workflows for downscaling air quality data, leveraging expertise in statistical methods in R and/or Python.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research, collaborating with scientists, IT developers, and policy-makers to advance our understanding of air quality and atmospheric composition.
  • Communicate scientific results within the Department, at international conferences, and through high-quality publications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Meteorology or a related field.
  • Experience in indoor/outdoor air quality data analysis (1 year minimum).
  • Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems and UNIX/LINUX environments.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical presentation skills (English fluency required).

Additional Information
