Procurement Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Category Manager to join our team at Submer. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for coordinating with Product Development and conducting Sourcing and Procurement for all assigned product categories.
Key Responsibilities- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Procurement Process Management: Ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements, developing KPIs to measure the effectiveness of category strategy and activities.
- Market Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify industry trends, potential suppliers, and competitive pricing, providing insights and recommendations.
- Supplier Setup and Management: Establish and manage a network of reliable suppliers, overseeing the onboarding process, including supplier visits, contract negotiations, compliance checks, and performance evaluations.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, focusing on securing favorable terms and conditions, managing contract renewals, amendments, and compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Supplier Relationship and Performance Management: Supplier selection, visit, management, and evaluation, in coordination with Product Engineering & Quality, to assure desired levels of service and capacity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders (including product development/engineering, finance, and operations teams) to understand their needs and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Participation in Full Cycle of Purchasing Project Management: From product design until End of Production, going through sourcing, proto phase, homologation, and serial life management.
- Improvement Plans: Active search of manufacturing improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement and category management, preferably in a technology startup or fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of setting up and managing suppliers and categories from scratch.
- International experience, with a proven track record of setting up different regions.
