Job Title: Senior Project Controls Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Controls Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a range of project controls services to support designated projects within our PMO and planning centre of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directing and managing the application of specific project controls methods, techniques, and tools with a good working knowledge of a variety of techniques on a range of project and programme complexity.
  • Directing and managing a team of professionals delivering project controls services and responsible for staff development.
  • Evaluating trends and communicating analysis and corrective measures effectively in a complex project environment using numerical and statistical techniques as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Leading the application of specific project controls methods, techniques, and tools.
  • Advising on complex requirements and communicating analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Managing project controls delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes.
  • Playing a key role in multidisciplinary teams and taking a lead role in creating plans or analysing trends using numerical and statistical techniques.
  • Leading and managing a team of professionals delivering project controls services and responsible for staff development.
  • Managing assistant managers & managers where required by the scale of the project.
  • Persuading and influencing colleagues.
  • Influencing clients to accept proposals and recommendations.
  • Satisfying customer requirements.
  • Tackling problems that do not have an obvious solution.
  • Delegating tasks to others.
  • Selling the business and winning work.
  • Creating and delivering persuasive presentations to large audiences.
  • Spotting and developing talented individuals.
Requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to be part of a high-performing team.
  • Articulate and has potential to assimilate information quickly.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience of working on construction projects and/or consultancy.
  • Experience of delivering effective PMO and project controls/assurance frameworks/strategies.
  • Good knowledge of PMO and project controls tools, techniques, and software (e.g. MS Office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, and RiskHive).
  • An interest in data analytics.
  • Understanding of construction/delivery lifecycle and/or consultancy.
  • Knowledge of PMO and project controls service delivery in one or more sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
  • Good interpersonal skills and potential ability to form effective working relationships.
  • Effectively collaborates with others.
  • Ability to articulate complex information and ideas for a non-technical audience.
  • Seeks to continuously improve.
  • Creating and delivering clear and professional presentations to project teams/clients.

  • Relevant university degree (e.g. construction, engineering) (or equivalent).
