Staff Engineer - GenAI Team

At OLX, we're seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our dynamic GenAI team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based systems serving millions of users.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work on complex technical projects, collaborate closely with engineers, SREs, product teams, data scientists, and engineering managers. You'll be designing modular and scalable solutions that enable other teams to deliver excellent work.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and scale cloud-based systems serving millions of users.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go, running on AWS.
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.
  • Optimize code, debug issues, and automate routine tasks.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development with expertise in backend technologies (Python, Kotlin/Java, Go).
  • Knowledge of mobile (Java/Kotlin, Objective-C/Swift, Flutter) or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating them into applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design, object orientation, architectural patterns, and delivery patterns.
  • Familiarity with the mobile ecosystem, the full mobile development life-cycle, common libraries, and languages.
  • Experience in testing automation (unit testing, end-to-end testing).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and cloud native solutions; AWS is a plus.
  • Passion for architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in building AI/ML-enabled products is a plus.
