We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Computational Biologist to join our 'Evolutionary Processes Modeling' group at the Center for Genomic Regulation. As part of this team, you will play a key role in analyzing tumor sequencing data and developing computational pipelines to test biological hypotheses.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in computer programming, particularly in Python, and experience with bioinformatics methods for sequencing data analysis. A master's degree in bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, computer science or a related field is required. Proficiency in English is necessary, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects focused on understanding cancer evolution and survival. Our research aims to uncover how population genetics forces, such as mutation, selection, and stochasticity, contribute to cancer development. By applying mathematical and computational approaches, we aim to estimate mutation rates and selection inference from observed mutation data.
