Job Description
The Senior Release Manager will play a critical role in managing the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions from development to production. This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in release engineering and project management.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the release process from development to testing and production environments.
- Collaborate with the Platform/DevOps team to design and build infrastructure for consistent, on-time delivery of high-quality releases.
- Schedule, manage, and coordinate releases across multiple components and teams.
- Identify and mitigate risks that impact release scope, quality, and schedules.
- Monitor releases and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure team members and stakeholders follow engineering best practices and release validation processes.
- Continuously improve the release process based on monitoring and feedback from stakeholders.
- Focus on the bigger picture, aligning software development and release processes with overall business objectives.
- Conduct release readiness assessments and validate release manifests.
- Lead and coordinate checklist and deployment plan execution.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in IT/Computer Science, with a minimum of 5 years in release engineering or release management/project management.
- At least 3 years of experience working for a SaaS/cloud company with an agile delivery model.
- Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
