About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer Europe will be a key member of both the European and Finance Leadership team, driving financial strategies across the region to support Europe's strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational decision-making guidance to the leadership team to improve business performance and capital allocation decisions.
  • Oversee Long Term Plan development following Integrated Business Planning across region to deliver robust strategic plans.
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with Brambles' Board of Directors, CEO, CFO and Executive Leadership Team to provide insights and commentary on the financial results and performance.
  • Assess, evaluate, and approve financial performance of the organization regarding both short and long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Work closely with Centre of Excellence team to ensure the effectiveness of the corporate, regional, and country compliance and internal control environment for the region.
  • Supervise standard Finance reporting within the region including Brambles's performance reviews and authorize the development of ad-hoc regional reporting to serve internal customers efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee policy compliance, balance sheet control, statutory reporting, and risk assurance activities within Pallets EU.
  • Oversee Commercial Finance activities conducted in the region to provide strategic guidance for major customer deals.
  • Direct the execution of other business Support Analysis activities to efficiently serve regional internal customers.
  • Drive and collaborate on Finance Transformation initiatives and build a process and automation improvement mindset.
  • Lead a people development culture within the region and across Global Finance, focusing on building strong succession pipelines and championing wellbeing for the teams.
  • Lead and develop the team of Regional functional Finance Business Partners, to provide effective Finance support to the Business.
About You

We are looking for a seasoned finance leader with a strong entrepreneurial streak and commercial orientation. You will have a proven track record of advising on driving growth and increasing profitability, with credibility and gravitas across strategic, financial, and operational discussions at a senior level.

You will be a decision maker, driven by objectives, solutions, and results, with the ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and paint credible pictures of future possibilities.

As a strategic and critical thinker, you will anticipate and provide scenarios for different problems, with a deep understanding of how businesses work and the ability to see the big picture and manage the business taking into account a wide variety of metrics.

You will have experience in driving change management across markets, with a passion for new technologies and the opportunity they bring for the business.

We are looking for someone with a minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or a relevant technical discipline, with senior finance leadership experience leading large teams in a multinational, matrix organisation.

Experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics or FMCGs is a plus, as is the development and growth of teams, successfully operating within organisations having a large international presence and being part of a global management team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of organisations and understand and appreciate the organisational, cultural, and economic nuances of doing business on a global scale.
