At Amazon, we're seeking a highly skilled Data Center Construction Manager to oversee the construction of our state-of-the-art data centers. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing the entire data center lifecycle construction process, from feasibility studies to commissioning of completed facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee construction-related activities for new builds or general capital projects in Malaysia, including ownership of project scope, timeline, and budgets.
  • Cost and Schedule Management: Drive costs down and schedules shorter while maintaining quality, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Construction Management: Provide construction management for specific initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers, including review of constructability of electrical and mechanical systems and building designs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure total project quality, including assisting with commissioning and integrated system testing, and oversight of the execution of the project.
  • Communication: Issue/Manage the Request for Information process during construction and coordinate construction administration with engineers, recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years of work experience in design and construction management experience, with experience in program management in mission critical facilities, reading and interpreting construction-related drawings for all disciplines, and carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mission critical projects (data centers, semi-conductor, hospitals, oil and gas), knowledge of Malaysian building codes and regulations, and previous vendor and contractor/subcontractor negotiation and management skills associated with construction and project execution.
