Steel Trader Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Steel Trader to join our team at Approach People Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the prepainted steel field, with a proven track record of successful trades and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, structure, and execute trades across a range of steel products and potentially raw materials for steel making, mainly PPGI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with steel mills, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and end-users in key regions such as APAC, and EMEA.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the company's market reach and customer base.
  • Understand and manage the trade flows of steel products, ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency from production hubs to end markets.
  • Monitor and analyze global economic indicators, geopolitical events, industry trends, and technological advancements affecting the steel industry.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in the Prepainted Steel Field trading.
  • Strong communication skills, negotiating, high degree of flexibility and quick grasp of things.
  • Active, independent, goal oriented.
  • Strong understanding of global steel trade flows, logistics, and supply chain management.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed to meet with suppliers, customers, and industry partners.
