Job Title: Senior Payroll Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Coordinator to join our HR team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll processes for our circa 500 combined store and head office colleagues in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and communicate the payroll yearly and monthly calendar
  • Ensure appropriate processes and reporting tools are implemented to enable smooth and correct flow of payroll data from stores
  • Work closely with our external payroll vendor to ensure correctness and security of the whole payroll production
  • Execute controls for payroll files throughout the payroll cycle
  • Ensure the correct application of any enrollment, changes, or termination of employee benefits, such as life insurance, health insurance and other payroll-related benefits
  • Provide guidance to stores in any task related with payroll
  • Provide assistance to employees on payroll-related matters, answer questions, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Act as a true business leader, communicating with all other departments (EU payroll, accounting)
Requirements:
  • Bachelors, Master's or equivalent experience and or qualifications in payroll, human resource management or finance
  • 5-7 years of experience in payroll preferred, as well as personnel administration and/or HRIS, payroll process improvement implementation, HR systems and data management
  • Experience in retail, hospitality or customer service sectors would be an advantage
  • Knowledgeable on Spanish Labor Code
  • Fluent in English at a business level
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup and other formulas)
  • Excellent analytical skills with high level of accuracy, detail oriented with good planning and organisation skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse and global team
  • Strong work ethics and integrity
