Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Active Safety Test Engineer to join our team at Tesla. As an Active Safety Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with ECE regulations and their global equivalents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans focusing on ECE compliance, including new vehicle homologation and ongoing Conformity of Production (COP) testing.
- Conduct vehicle-level homologation tests in collaboration with global engineering staff, testing agencies, and test witnesses.
- Schedule test tracks and prioritize resources for compliance with regulations.
- Configure, maintain, diagnose, and sign off test vehicles for safe testing.
- Conduct and coordinate homologation tests and pre-tests according to official procedures.
- Follow Tesla test plans to record, analyze, and report results, citing ECE requirements.
- Coordinate calibration of test data acquisition equipment and maintain records.
- Coordinate design, acquisition, and customization of test fixtures and sensors.
- Work on continuous improvement of Tesla vehicle-level active safety test procedures.
- Support development and validation tests in various engineering fields as needed.
Requirements
- Outstanding ability to multitask and coordinate multiple testing programs.
- Strong data analysis skills with direct experience in ECE regulations and test procedures.
- Ability to interpret regulations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle testing on proving grounds, and utilizing sensing and recording systems such as thermocouples, accelerometers, load cells, CMM, data acquisition systems, and software.
- Proficiency in MS Office, JIRA, MATLAB, and Adobe products.
- Understanding of measurement equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 30-40%.
