Quality and Food Safety Manager

As the Quality and Food Safety Manager at International Flavors & Fragrances, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's quality and food safety systems, ensuring that our internal regulations and corporate values are upheld. Your mission will be to guarantee that safe products are produced in accordance with our quality and food safety standards, as well as current legislation.
ResponsibilitiesOperational/Technical- Develop and implement quality and production processes.
- Establish and enforce quality, food safety, and identity-preserved standards and regulations for raw materials, packaging, semi-finished products, and finished products.
- Manage and represent the company before third-party certification bodies (BRC, ISO 9001, HALAL KOSHER, Organic).
- Manage and represent the company before official bodies.
- Define inspection, testing, and measurement procedures.
- Review work methods and advise on the introduction of new equipment, considering its potential impact on quality, food safety, and legality.
- Manage analysis of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products by laboratory technicians to control deviations from specifications.
- Support the business in preparing technical reports on product characteristics.
- Manage and control client and external entity samples.
- Lead and participate in projects to improve products and plant processes.
- Responsible for client audits and claims management.
- Familiarity with current legislation, applicable standards, and the role of external food safety agents.
- Ensure completion, organization, and control of department documentation.
- Ensure product safety according to BRC, FSMA, internal company regulations, group, and current legislation.
- Lead the HACCP team.
- Member of the Recall or Crisis Team.
- Manage Hygiene and Traceability Prerequisites.
- Adapt and manage the Pest Control system.
- Lead and participate in the investigation of process and product incidents.
- Manage the plant's quality and food safety departments.
- Know and plan training/education needs of department members to achieve a multifunctional and autonomous team.
- Manage department competencies and ensure necessary competencies and backups exist.
- Ensure department staff works according to quality, safety, and hygiene guidelines.
- Help create and maintain a good working environment in the department.
- Promote IFF values in their department and in the plant.
- Promote the culture of food safety.
- Responsible for Occupational Safety in their departments.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Engineering related to the food industry.
