Job Description

CIC energiGUNE is seeking a researcher to join our Modelling and Computational Simulations group.

The successful candidate will engage in the research and development of polymer electrolytes for rechargeable Zn-air batteries within a Horizon EU project.

  • Apply state-of-the-art computational techniques to elucidate solvation structures and ionic transport properties as a function of different experimental parameters.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of theorists and experimentalists from condensed matter, electrochemistry, and materials sciences.

Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Applied Mathematics
  • Strong background in Solid-State Physics/Chemistry and Quantum Chemistry, applied to polymer science
  • Experience with atomistic simulation methods, such as molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including Python, Fortran, and shell scripts
  • Basic knowledge of density functional theory methods and machine learning techniques
