Job Title: PhD Researcher in Sodium-Ion Battery Degradation Mechanisms

Job Description:

CIC energiGUNE is recruiting a highly motivated PhD candidate to investigate and model degradation mechanisms in commercial sodium-ion batteries. The research will focus on identifying and quantifying ageing pathways in anodes, cathodes, and electrolytes and developing predictive models to simulate aging mechanisms and propose mitigation strategies to enhance battery performance and longevity.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design and conduct experiments to study the ageing mechanisms in commercial sodium-ion batteries.
  2. Analyze experimental data to identify key degradation pathways in anodes, cathodes, and electrolytes.
  3. Develop and implement computational models to simulate ageing processes.
  4. Collaborate with team members and external partners to validate findings.
  5. Present research findings at conferences and publish results in high-impact scientific journals.
  6. Contribute to the overall research activities of the department and participate in group meetings.
