**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Squash Variety Developer to join our team at Rijk Zwaan in Spain.

The primary goal of this role is to develop new squash varieties for various market segments worldwide. This involves working closely with global market specialists and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies. As a Squash Variety Developer, you will be responsible for creating innovative traits, disease resistances, and fruit quality improvements. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating seed logistics, crossing, marker-assisted selection (MAS), phenotyping, and administrative tasks. Your role will also involve process improvement initiatives and implementing cutting-edge technology advancements within the company. Furthermore, you will participate in strategic discussions regarding the breeding program and contribute to designing and evaluating variety trials globally.

About You:
To succeed in this position, you must be a proactive, creative, flexible, and solution-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills are essential. Proficiency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Spanish is a plus. Relevant education in horticulture, agriculture, applied biology, or plant breeding is required. Previous experience in plant breeding is desirable. In addition to excellent technical knowledge, you should possess a keen eye for detail and a practical, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
