Job Description

Project Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at IMDEA Nanoscience to study the complex interactions between chromophores and proteins in natural photosystems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a model system that allows us to investigate how specific interactions between chromophores and proteins affect the conformational changes in proteins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a model system to study protein-chromophore coupling
  • Combine methods in molecular biology and spectroscopy to develop bio-hybrids and characterize their excited state dynamics
  • Develop bio-physical models to address the effects of chromophore-amino acid interactions on protein conformation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field
  • Master's degree in biotechnology, bioscience, nanotechnology, or a related field
  • Good English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Team working skills
