The PositionWe're seeking a talented animator with a passion for crafting dynamic and visually stunning gameplay experiences. As a Gameplay Animation Specialist, you'll play a key part in delivering animations that enhance both the fun and visual appeal of our game. A proactive mindset and a knack for identifying and solving challenges are essential qualities. A strong appreciation for football—or a genuine enthusiasm to learn its core mechanics—is crucial to authentically capturing the essence of the sport.
Your Responsibilities- Create high-quality, responsive animations for characters that align with the gameplay and artistic vision of a multiplayer football game.
- Collaborate with animators, designers, and gameplay programmers to implement animations into the game engine, ensuring they feel responsive and grounded while meeting the demands of competitive gameplay.
- Work closely with the animation director to ensure consistency and high standards of animation quality.
- Proactively evaluate and debug animation-related issues, iterating based on feedback to refine animations and ensure optimal gameplay experience.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of animation workflows and tools to optimize production efficiency.
- Develop a thorough understanding of football fundamentals to accurately capture the dynamics and movements of players within the game.
As a Gameplay Animation Specialist, you should have:
- 5+ years of experience as an animator in the games industry, with at least one shipped title.
- A strong grasp of animation principles, including timing, weight, and body mechanics, with a focus on grounded realism.
- Experience with animation systems for multiplayer games, especially sports or character-driven gameplay.
- Proficiency in Maya or equivalent animation software familiarity with MotionBuilder is a plus.
- Knowledge of implementing animations in game engines, such as Unreal Engine (experience with Animation Blueprints and state machines is a bonus).
- A basic understanding of motion capture editing and integration.
- A passion for football and an understanding of the sport's nuances.
We offer a competitive salary of €80,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.
