About the Role

The START TECH Program at Roche is a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in mobile development. As a mobile developer intern, you will work closely with our product and UX teams to understand and collaborate on defining product deliverables. You will develop a thorough understanding of the Detailed System design and workflows within the application, and write maintainable, reliable, reusable, secure, and performant code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product and UX to understand and collaborate on defining product deliverables.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Detailed System design and workflows within the application.
  • Write maintainable, reliable, reusable, secure, and performant code.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Use software development practices and testing fundamentals, including integration testing against APIs, client libraries, and UI.

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate (max 3 years after graduation) students majoring in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
  • Software development experience with either Java, Swift, SwiftUI, C++, or Kotlin.
  • You understand how to work with remote data via REST APIs.
  • You have a solid understanding of the Android or iOS platform.
  • You have at least a high-level knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • You understand the full mobile development lifecycle - design principles, implement, test, release, monitor, and maintain.
  • You have a big appetite to learn and improve your Android/iOS skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand complex data models and workflows.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Student organization and/or study abroad experiences are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
