Job Title: Casualty Underwriter
About the Role:
AXA XL is seeking a skilled Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a Casualty Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business for a range of clients across Spain and Portugal, monitoring aggregate exposure within agreed limits, and maintaining awareness of all claims advised.
Key Responsibilities:
• Underwrite, manage, and service a renewal book and produce new business in accordance with business unit goals and aligned with local and group underwriting guidelines.
• Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and targets within your portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross-marketing penetration, and specific plans to increase company share.
• Analyze and evaluate risks showing technical consistency.
• Build and enhance relationships with brokers and clients and identify and establish new distribution relationships.
• Maintain expertise with products, services, priorities, and targeted markets.
• Maintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or Engineering.
• Some years of experience in underwriting, policy development, and broker management in Liability.
• Experience in corporate segment will be valued.
• Good market and industry knowledge.
• Valued knowledge of the Portuguese market.
• Ability to understand stakeholders' needs and concerns and identify points of agreement.
• Efficiently manage interactions with other parties involved.
• Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
