Job Overview:

An experienced Powerplant Engineer is sought to engage in the design, development, and execution of powerplant systems for a significant aircraft initiative. The role involves collaboration within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the advancement of a turbo-propeller aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate the engine, propeller, and associated systems (including cowling, intake, exhaust, ventilation, heat management, mounting, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, starting, control and monitoring, accessories, lubrication, fuel, and drainage) into the powerplant and the aircraft.
  • Ensure that the powerplant integration comprehensively addresses all aircraft specifications (technical specifications, certification, qualification, safety, etc.).
  • Assist in defining the necessary substantiation methods for powerplant integration (including analysis, testing, safety assessments, drawings, inspections) and execute the related tasks.
  • Coordinate between the powerplant team and other aircraft disciplines (such as aerodynamics, flight physics, structures, design, systems, testing, certification, and qualification) to streamline integration.
  • Propose, discuss, and finalize the physical and functional interfaces of the powerplant with the rest of the aircraft.
  • Ensure thorough development and documentation of integration activities.
  • Advise on the implications and technical risks associated with the powerplant integration process.
  • Participate in technical audits related to powerplant integration.
  • Evaluate powerplant development, certification, and qualification tests as necessary for integration assessment and modification definition.
  • Investigate in-service anomalies, incidents, and accidents related to the powerplant, providing support for the continuous airworthiness of operational aircraft fleets.
  • Assess potential customer requests and their implications for the powerplant, including compliance and necessary modifications.
  • Define and coordinate the integration of applicable powerplant modifications resulting from in-service anomalies or new customer requirements, ensuring adherence to powerplant specifications for new aircraft developments, including validation and verification of design modifications against requirements, and coordination with other aircraft systems and disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent (Master's or similar).
  • Desirable experience in powerplant integration activities, covering at least part of an aircraft development cycle, preferably in turboprop systems. Related experience may be considered as an alternative.
  • Familiarity with the integration tools required for powerplant integration.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
