We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Operations Management team, you will be responsible for driving improvements in health and safety, quality, and productivity across our Fulfilment Centres.
As a Senior Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for managing the health and safety function at our Fulfilment Centres, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives. You will also be responsible for providing authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the health and safety function at our Fulfilment Centres, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
- Proactively engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites.
- Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Review and audit arrangements for health and safety management and continuously improve these arrangements where appropriate.
- Provide strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health and safety risks and recommend suitable adaptations to plant, machinery, and processes.
- Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for H&S statistics.
- Provide management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
- Support business change through effective change management processes within the fast-paced FC environment.
- Drive behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.
- Implement and review of company global safety policies ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of our health and safety culture. As a Senior Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for driving improvements in health and safety, quality, and productivity across our Fulfilment Centres.
You will be working closely with our Operations Management team to ensure that our health and safety standards are met and that our employees are safe and healthy at work.
Requirements
- Education to a degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specialisations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
- Relevant experience managing a team.
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
- Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
