Project Manager for European Research Initiatives

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Fundació per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the effective implementation of European research projects, providing daily scientific, technical, and managerial support to Principal Investigators and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General coordination of European projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality of results.
  • Interface between project coordinators and internal teams/partners or external stakeholders, facilitating communication and decision-making.
  • Coordination of day-to-day internal scientific/technical work according to work plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Writing guidelines, activity reports, and deliverables, as well as preparing agendas and presentations for project meetings and committees.
  • Providing guidance to project partners on scientific orientation, mitigation plans, ethical issues, and work plans.
  • Resolution of conflicts, orientation of partners toward work plans, and guidance of consortia toward objectives.
  • Project quality and risk management, including revision of final documents, communication, patient-related materials, and exploitation plans.
  • Elaboration of Data Management Plans and DPIAs, as well as monitoring data protection compliance and ethical regulatory processes.
  • Gantt chart follow-up, management of timelines and deadlines, and daily management activities, including organization of meetings and events linked to the project.
  • Economic follow-up, looking for providers and quotes, and support in drafting amendments.
Requirements:
  • PhD in a health or related psycho-social field.
  • Scientific background and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, including methods, techniques, and underlying theories.
  • Ability to write technical and scientific content, guidelines, reports, and presentations.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a position of Scientific Manager or coordination of a research European project.
  • Good knowledge of main rules and regulations affecting European Projects, familiarity with EU-funded projects, and project management.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and organize project workload and meet time-critical schedules.
  • Leadership, ability to lead and give orientation, and work under pressure with strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and thorough attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, including negotiation and consensus-building, as well as English proficiency and Spanish advanced level.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with a variety of people, proactivity, and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good numeracy skills with ability to present and interpret financial reports.
