We are seeking an experienced Media Localization Project Manager to join our team at Happy Scribe Ltd. Based in Barcelona, we are a 100% bootstrapped and profitable startup, dedicated to breaking language barriers globally and bringing audiovisual content to all.
This is a hybrid role, with about 80% of the time spent collaborating in person. Our speech-to-text technology isn't 100% accurate yet, so we need a skilled Project Manager to manage the linguistic team and execute projects from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the Media localization industry, expertise in different transcription, subtitling, and translation workflows, and excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for managing costs, linguists, turnaround times, ensuring quality assurance, and overseeing projects through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management involving managing costs, linguists, turnaround times, ensuring quality assurance, and overseeing projects through to successful completion.
- Establishing processes for customised offerings in multiple languages, aligning on style guides, onboarding linguists, testing quality, and preparing for customer trial periods and signed projects.
- Main point of contact for customers with ongoing projects, regular catch-ups to align on customer expectations and updates on projects.
- Quality audits to monitor output quality, managing reworks when needed, and performing root cause analysis as part of quality investigations.
- Designing, scoping, and implementing system improvements to handle projects more efficiently.
