We are seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Swift, a leading financial institution. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our procurement activities and providing sound legal advice to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support our business operations, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide expert legal advice on complex matters, including procurement, intellectual property, and technology agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and coordinate worldwide litigation, working closely with management, staff, and external counsel to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Negotiate claims with third parties to minimize litigation risks.
- Collaborate with management and staff to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving laws and regulations, identifying potential impacts on our operations and providing recommendations for mitigation.
- Lead and mentor less senior counsel, providing guidance and support to ensure successful task completion.
- Review and manage the work of external counsel, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in legal matters within an international financial and/or IT/telecom environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and competition laws, licensing issues, and telecommunication matters.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
